Holiday Toys 2 – Charity event

holiday-toys

Broadway Academy Westmount in cooperation with Montreal Children’s Hospital was holding “Holiday Toys 2” – four fundraising Christmas recitals. Our purpose was to collect toys in support of Montreal Children’s Hospital. We have collected toys, books, artist cases, gift cards and other supplies for children. Specific toys and supplies were suggested by Ms. Marie-France Haineault, Professional coordinator Child Life Services.

On December 8, 2013 our big day came. Our students showed off what they have learned in past few weeks. Some of them were performing for the first time ever. We would like to congratulate all the performers for great performances. Thank to all our participants we have collected many toys for toddlers, preschoolers and teenagers. We thank them and their families not only for the great atmosphere but mostly for bringing many smiles on children’s faces – children who had to stay in the hospital during holidays. Why have we supported Montreal Children’s Hospital with toys?
We have found out that more than 50% of all patients receiving care there are under the age of three. Therefore toys for infants and toddlers are in HIGH demand. Items to offer as gifts adolescents during the holidays are also quite sparse.
